Strength comes in numbers. By becoming a member, you are helping Codeberg e.V. further its mission and reinforce its independence as a non-profit. Not only because memberships make up our primary source of income (together with donations), but also because you get the right to participate in our association's democratic structures. Your support helps us continue providing infrastructure for free and open-source projects and meet increasing demand.
Supporting members support Codeberg e.V.'s goals directly, get regular updates on its work, and may attend and participate in the association's events. Active members gain the additional right to vote. This right includes voting on proposals put forward by others, proposed changes to Codeberg's Privacy Policy, deciding on financial plans, as well as electing members of the non-profit's presidium.
Private individuals can choose between an active and a supporting membership. Corporate and legal entities are welcome to support Codeberg e.V. through a supporting membership. If you use Codeberg.org and wish to play an active role in preserving the health and future of the platform and of other ongoing projects, we highly suggest choosing an active membership. We welcome everyone who wishes to support our goals and occassionally monitor our progress to choose a supporting membership or, alternatively, consider making a one-time or a recurring donation.
We are always on the lookout for new volunteers. In this part of the form, we will ask you to select key areas that you could offer us help with. Such help can, for example, include offering us advice for a problem that we are facing. Any entries that you make are not binding. Keep in mind that, due to limited resources, we might not have the capacity to reach out to you by ourselves. We maintain a list of projects on our Contributing repository.
Your email address will be used by Codeberg e.V. to identify you as a member. This lets us, for example, process changes to your membership (including, but not limited to, cancellation) sent over email. We will also use your email address to send you regular updates about the work of Codeberg e.V., invite you to association events open to members and send you invitations to vote on motions. As a member, you are obliged to provide us a functioning email address that we can contact you with.
Codeberg e.V. is legally required to maintain up-to-date records of postal addresses of its members. We will only send you letters in exceptional cases (e.g. if you explicitly request a donation receipt to be sent by mail).
If you have an account on Codeberg.org, we will use it to invite you to the Codeberg e.V. organization.
If you are applying for an active membership, you must provide us a username. Only then can we provide you with access to internal documents, discussion groups and proposals related to Codeberg e.V., which we consider to be prerequisite for meaningful active participation. Please note that by joining this organization, other Codeberg e.V. members in the organization will be able to see that your Codeberg profile is listed as a member of the Codeberg e.V. organization.
The processing of your personal data is carried out in accordance with our privacy policy, which you must accept to join our association.
Your money will be used to cover material costs (e.g. servers, electricityoffice materials), staff, and more. You can choose the frequency and amount. The minimum annual membership fee for private individuals is 24 EUR. Prospective members with limited financial means are eligible for a discounted fee of 12 EUR annually.
The minimum annual membership fee is 100 EUR for legal entities.
For members with limited financial means (e.g. pupils, students, unemployed, pensioners and social welfare recipients), the minimum membership fee can be reduced upon request. The Executive Board of Codeberg e.V. will examine your request and decide whether to grant you a discount.
If Codeberg e.V. accepts your application, we will send you a welcome email that will include instructions on how to set up your recurring wire transfer.
Each installment of your membership fees made using the SEPA system must be 10 EUR at minimum. For instance, if your annual membership fee is 24 EUR, it can only be paid annually (24 EUR every 12 months) or biannually (12 EUR every 6 months), but not quarterly (6 EUR every 4 months).
By signing this mandate form, you authorise (A) Codeberg e.V. (DE40ZZZ00002172825) to instruct your bank to debit your account and (B) your bank to debit your account in accordance with the instructions from Codeberg e.V. As part of your rights, you are entitled to a refund from your bank under the terms and conditions of your agreement with your bank. A refund must be claimed within 8 weeks starting from the date on which your account was debited.
